When it comes to post-stroke recovery it takes a village. We can help you find resources beyond our own programs. Here are the groups that stroke survivors and caregivers need the most.

Important Resources
Family Caregivers of BC
Supporting over one million people in BC. Caregivers are encouraged to call the toll-free support line. Open throughout the week from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM for emotional support or for help with any care-giver related topics.
HandyDART by Translink
HandyDART is a door-to-door, shared ride service for passengers with physical or cognitive disabilities who are unable to use conventional public transit without assistance. The driver will come to your home, help you board on the vehicle, and get you to the door of your destination safely.
Delta Seniors Bus & Services
The Delta Seniors Bus program is a free transportation service for seniors 65+ living in Delta. The bus makes curbside stops to pick up and drop off seniors who have booked the service. It offers easy access to local medical services, recreation centres, shopping locations and other community amenities within Delta.
Canadian Red Cross
Health Equipment Loans
The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) provides Canadians with short-term loans of health equipment on a donation basis.
They assist health authority partners to help clients go home from hospital with the health equipment supports they need.
Disability Alliance BC
Our mission is to support people, with all disabilities, to live with dignity, independence and as equal and full participants in the community. We champion issues impacting the lives of people with disabilities through our direct services, community partnerships, advocacy, research and publications.

Kennedy Seniors Community Centre
After Stroke BC
Refer yourself or another stroke survivor or caregiver for support from an After Stroke Coordinator. You will be assigned an ASC to work on after stroke goals and to find suitable community resources.
Support can be one-time or ongoing, and you can “re-refer” yourself anytime new support is needed.
BC Brain Wellness (UBC)
Virtual programs for brain wellness, including programs suitable for cognitive rehabilitation, mindful activities, and fitness after stroke.
They integrate active research and education in all that they do. There ongoing delivery of classes supplements traditional medical care and can lead participants to a better quality of life.
